Bunny Trouble...

Mum has been promising to take me to the bunny garden because it is safely hedged and fenced in and will be a new place for me to explore.  This is where there are...bunnies.  But what are bunnies?   Hmmm...breeds of cat?  But no. Mum explained bunnies are about the same size as cats but have much bigger ears, huge feet and small tails.   They sound very peculiar to me as I do not have large feet and have a magnificent tail.   They do however burrow, and so do I, so they have at least they do one normal thing...

Fans...I love them

Fans come from all corners of world to see me...I know, it's the irresistible combination of charisma and dashing good looks...Yesterday the lovely Helen Wilkie-Miln came all the way from Oman!  Mum tells me this is *very* far away.  Well, all right, she came over from Fife, but I am sure that her visit here was the highlight of her trip back home to Scotland...so who is next?

The revenge of the kitty...

Just did a Haggis Kitty Kwondo ambush on Nugget.  Perfectly executed I landed on a moving target, crampons in, a quick bite, and away again.  He just shook his head and carried on.  Hmmmnnn...disappointing...can't have dogs becoming complacent....I shall have to rethink my tactics....

Tai Kitty Kuon Do!

Just having the most amazing fun jumping on the dogs.   Big Black Dog is getting a bit braver...not much...but he is beginning to play and lets me jump and attack his paws.   But he didn't expect my HAGGIS SPECIAL, a sudden leap onto his face with my paws wrapped round his head, and in a heartbeat I was away again.  Mum says she hopes I will do it again as it will make an *amazing* photo.  She has one she is going to post here later but its not as good....

Sardines!

Sardines!  Oh boy!  Where have they been all my life?  Yum!!

Singing in the rain....

Rushed to mum's side this morning, I thought she had hurt herself, and was screaming.   She said no, she was singing!  It sounded painful to me.....

Day two...From Romania with love....

Wasn't I *tiny* back then in late January, and exhausted and frightened.  I had only arrived at ten the previous evening on my long journey from Romania, but had spent the night curled in a warm bed, with quiet and food and drink, and mum checking on me all the time, reassuring me and giving me long cuddles and talking softly to me.  I had a new Scottish name she told me: Haggis.  I am still not sure what a Haggis is?  I went to sleep on her lap moments after this.  In fact because I was so tiny and had not recovered from cat flu I spent most of my first two weeks in Scotland eating (lots and lots of amazing food!!), sleeping, and cuddling.  I sensed other furry ones around, they padded up softly to have a look, then settled close to mum.  I am the centre of attention in a quiet, caring, cuddly way....

A Blind Dragon?

Is there going to be a blind dragon in one of mum's future books?  Well, she is certainly thinking how she can build that into the story arc.  She says there may be pawsibilites.  Two Gulps & You're Gone (The Dragon 'Whisperer) and the baby sabretooth battledragon Two Gulps Too Many (Flight to Dragon Isle) were both inspired by her great big ginger cat Rufus; temperamental, full of attitude and a tad overweight and only handled by her (though I love ambushing him).   Little Chinook inspired gentle Chasing the Stars, so..Haggis the dragon?...grey and white....goes blind as a fledgling due to some affliction...?  Umnn, she says let her think on it...I'm going to be famous....

Throwing the baby out with the bath water...

I have discovered baths!  Well, I discovered them almost on day one when mum went for her bath first thing when she gets up.  Big Black Dog and lots of my other furry brothers and sisters go too, but its mainly the Big Black Dog and me.  I couldn't reach the edge of the bath to start with so I occupied myself with pouncing on and attacking the Big Black Dog's tail.  But last week I was big enough to jump up and balance on the side of the bath.  So mum said it was time that I knew what I was jumping into.  So she let all the water out except for two inches and popped me in.  It was **great**.  I loved it!  I paddled around for ages.  Ever since, I am allowed to jump up and have a quality time cuddle with mum (cause she can't do anything else except pay attention to me when we're in the bath).   And if my tail gets wet or I slip I just shake off the water and jump right back in.  Dad has taken some pictures...they have to be 'discreet' mum said, something to do with two legged ones not having fur.....don't really understand as I have *no* problem being photographed in the bath....
pppppuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuurrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Haggis on the cat walk...

Me showing off my outdoor vest.  It has a bell and an elasticated lead so mum can keep an eye on me, and I know if I don't have it on, I'm not supposed to be out....
 Demonstrating the pounce...
 landing for the kill...
 I've got that green spider...
 Ninja pussycat....take that!

Strutting my stuff on the cat walk...everyone tells me I am a *very* handsome puss....

Wet and Soggy Moggie...

Just jumped out of my basket into a bowl of soapy water for cleaning the floor after a hailstorm.  Am a rather wet and soggy puss....off to groom....

Come thunder, lightning, hail and rain...

Listening to the hail storm battering off the conservatory roof...a teeny bit scared so have come to mum for a cuddle.  She says its all gone dark so she can't see anything either.....

Life is puuuurrrrfect....

Spoilt little boy....

Mum says I am a spoilt little boy because I tried to cover up some Felix, and then Whiskers - from a tin!!.  She said nine out of ten cats eat this.  But I am not just 'any' cat...pouches, trays and pouches are purrfectly acceptable, as is chicken, steak, lamb, fish......

My friend the Big Black Dog...

I was feeling sleepy and there is nothing better than cuddling into someone else so I just climbed on Big Black Dog.  He grumbled, but mum told him not to be such a woose.  Rufus rules, so Big Black Dog thinks I do too!  Pawsome!!  And see how big I've grown compared to those first pictures?  I know weight in at 2.1 kilos!!  Wonder how big I'll get...?

There is a whole world to explore out there...

I might be blind but I can 'see' with my other senses.  So many textures, sounds and smells to explore.  I can hear and chase insects on the wing.  I pinch the tennis ball from the Big Black Dog.  I can hear the wind chimes near the door which lets me work out where I am.  I love basking in the sun and the dew under my feet...and I like sitting in holes that Bracken has dug....but I need mum to supervise me to make sure I don't get into trouble...

A forever home for a blind cat...

Am helping another little blind puss like me find his forever home...purrr. Mum is going to help me set out a blog about helpful things to consider before taking on a blind puss like me....she says there are a lot of extra things to think about since I can 'see' things the way others do...  I am a special furry one she says....

This is the life....

Chewed, chased and annoyed everyone in the house. Now stretched out in the heat toasting my little paws and dreaming of mischief...

A growing boy....

But growing into what I wonder?

                                                                                                                             A total terror......

Who's been sleeping in my bed?

Haggis moves in beside big Rufus and lives to tell the tail....Rufus is being very patient...

Me and my new friend the Big Black Dog...

My new friend the Big Black Dog.  Don't tell anyone, but he is a total woose and was very scared when I came to sit beside him.  Mum told him to be brave so he stayed long enough for me to have a little cuddle...

Me and my activity blanket...

This is a puppy toy, but I think its perfect for me with lots of soft balls and toys attached by string, and a nice blanket to jump on and get wrapped up in....

Week three: Having fun with a blue feathered toy....

Here I am having fun with a blue feathered toy that chirrups none stop even when I am nowhere near it....a gift from Colette...and it is still chirruping!!!  As you can see having caught it I am learning the 'pounce and disembowel' routine...puuuurrrr

Blind Omani kitten needs a new loving home like mine.....

PERI NEEDS A NEW HOME ASAP-Currently in West Palm Beach, FL

Things are not working out for Peri in his new home. If you are able and interested in adopting Peri, kindly email Peri's original foster mom, Rasheno, at PetPals.email@gmail.com

Before you email your interest please consider the following:

1) Peri is 100% blind
2) Peri is a 9 month old spayed male cat of Omani origin who was rescued off the streets in Feb 2012.
3) He ABSOLUTELY NEEDS a home where the new adopter can provide the time and effort, approx 4-6 weeks, of transitioning him to his new environment or existing cats.
4) He is healthy.
5) If you have a single or no cat home it may be better for both Peri and your cat for a smoother transition.
6) He is very sweet, playful and likes to be in your presence.

Only serious adopters with careful consideration to all points mentioned above email your inquiries.

With many thanks in advance.
Peri's former foster mom, Rasheno

Me and a pheasant feather...

I was a little bit scared of bells so this is my favourite first toy: a pheasant feather.  Here is a little video of me playing during my first week in Scotland...

From Romania with love....

Two photos of my first day in Scotland.  Me in my playpen and asleep next to my new mum..........she says I am a tiny fist of fur...it was very cold last night when I arrived in Dalkeith so I was a bit stressed...but soon settled down in my comfort cave (which matches my fur puuurrrfectly!) next to a warm radiator along with some kitten food and biscuits.  Then I had a looooooooooooooong snooze to get over the four day journey from Romania.  My new home is in Scotland, just south of Edinburgh.

Daniela Paun: the wonderful lady who rescued me.....

The wonderful dedicated lady who took me in is Daniela Paun from Galati, Romania.  She and her husband look after 53 cats and 36 dogs, many ill with serious problems.  They love and care for them all, but desperately need your help to feed and pay her food and vet bills.  Her paypal is: crengutza39@yahoo.com

Here is an early picture of me paying with toys and other kittens in her care.....

A Scared Little Street Kitten....

Helloooo.  Isn't it pppuuuurrrrrrrrrrfect?  I am to have my own blog so that my millions of fans can keep up with my story.   But let's go back to the beginning.   I was born on the streets of Romania....I don't know what happened to my mum and siblings but we were all unwanted and unloved.  All I remember was that it was cold and cruel and that I fell ill.  then one day I woke up, and I couldn't see!  Everything was dark and cold and frightening.   But then someone came along called Daniella, who took me into the warmth and love of her home,  wrapped me up warmly and fed me.  And here I am in her care.  I am soooo cute, aren't I?  *Everyone* says so!! Puuuuuuuuuuuurrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!
