Haggis fund raising for special needs kitten Earl Grey

Cami Serban found six kittens. She took three to a vet for treatment and the other three were killed on the road. This gorgeous boy is Earl Grey. His adoption fell through. Earl Grey has one eye permanently damaged. In a cage at the vets he is becoming depressed and desperate and is loosing weight. He may give up the fight if we cannot get him transported to his foster mum Susan Gibson in the UK. Please help us give this little boy a chance at the good things in life.

Thistle

Mum says Thistle arrived last night care of Charles Meyer.  She is incredibly cuddly and settled in after her long journey from Romania as if it had been a stroll in the park.  I took a lot longer to recover.  I have rubbed noses but that is all because we have only had a brief introduction.  The Big Black Dog and her have had a lot of nose rubs and mum says Big Black Dog is not scared of her the way he is scared of me!!
She purrs very loudly and revolves around as she does it.  Mum had her through on her lap where she writes for a couple of hours and no one but me noticed, once again proving you don't need eyes to see.

Double Trouble...

Mum says my new playmate Thistle arrives from Romania today.  She says Thistle will keep me out of trouble and stop me ambushing and annoying everyone else, but one of mum's friends says its going to be double trouble...oh, boy!

Not all kittens are as lucky as me....

Mum has been desperately upset.  Yet another little kitten rescued from a rubbish bin, has died, just two weeks before being transported to his forever home.  Mum wanted to adopt blind Barty to give me a playmate, but because he is so handsome and still has his eyes, unlike me, she knew she could find him an adopter quicker than for other kittens who have totally lost their eyes because of cat flu, like me.  Barty was rescued by Paun Daniela, who rescued me.  They are both crying.  Mum said they fought very hard to save his life, but he was too traumatised.   She has been fundraising to pay his vet bills and transport to the UK.  I am a lucky little kitten because I made it to my forever home.

Own a poster of purrrfect me!!

Ideal for all cat lovers for yourself or as a gift: Beautiful A3 satin finish photographic poster print of our blind kitten Haggis stretching out with the words: Life is purrrfect.... Each is hand printed on A3 satin finish 190 gsm professional photographic paper.
About Haggis: our adopted blind Romanian kitten who we named Haggis arrived in January of this year, a tiny fist of fur half the weight he should have been. Haggis was rescued from a precarious life on the streets by a wonderful lady named Daniela Paun. She and her husband try and care for up to 90 stray cats and dogs, and keep them from the clutches of the brutal dog catchers whilst trying to rehome them.
Haggis is now an irrepressible bundle of energy who knows his way around the house and garden, and is a total terror. He is part of a multi pet household full of rescued dogs and cats. With a huge personality and a double helping of cattitude, Haggis has his own blog at:http://horriblehaggis.blogspot.co.uk/
Each print is hand printed to order.
Can be gift wrapped with small card of the same with your message.

Sin binned again!

Well here I am back in the sin bin again!  And all I did was torment Chinook all morning.  Its not bad, its a big bedroom where I play when mum and dad go out which isn't very often.  It has a comfy bed and a big toy lion to cuddle, and of course my toys.  But...it does mean I can't ambush, jump on and torment the dogs or other cats.  Mum says anther little blind kitten is coming soon to sort me out, and then I will get a taste of my own medicine when she ambushes me and chases me round the house.  Sounds like heaven!!  Another me!!!

New Haggis outdoor playpen under construction...

this is Haggis's playpen under construction.  I spend a great deal of time outside with Haggis who loves to explore and climb...climb trees, prickly bushes, walls...well pretty much anything.  So, this is for him to have freedom and safety.  Half covered with bark chips on one side, open with turf on the other.  Tunnels, climbing net, tree trunks and toys...all for Horrible and in due course, Thistle.

Meet Thistle...

Meet Thistle, who is virtually blind, who will be travelling from Romania soon with another little blind kitten (going to an excellent home with another blind cat too), to join Haggis here in Lasswade.  This little girl has, like Haggis, suffered severe cat flu, which is the most common cause of blindness in kittens, and is why there are so many blind kittens in Eastern Europe. Thistle has been in veterinary care and has now begun her booster treatment necessary to get her a UK passport.

Cool Cat: Hog Dogs

A cool cat, that's me!  Coolest cat in the world.  Nothing phases me...certainly not the inferior furry one's called dogs.  I mean, what are dogs good for?  Well, playing with.  I love ambushing the dogs, or leaping on their tails and hanging on.  They make such a fuss! But I have found some dogs that I *really* like: Hot Dogs!!!  When mum shouts out 'doggie treats', I know to come running too, because I love hot dogs...wonderful aroma, yummy taste!!  Purrrrrfect!!

So there you go, who would have thought it?  Cool Cats like Hot Dogs!

Bedtime Stories...

At the end of each day of tormenting, annoying and ambushing everyone in the house and out in the garden I like to wind down by curling up on my bed on mum's desk or cuddling into dad for my bedtime story.  Everyone breathes a great sigh of relief...I don't understand why...?

The blind kitten who thinks he is a squirrel...

Mum says I have an identity crisis...she says I think I'm a squirrel.    Two days ago I climbed straight up a vertical harled wall.  Pawesome!!  And she didn't have her camera to catch this amazing feat.  So today I went one better.  I was rooting around beneath the conifers beside a big wall and I thought let's look at the view. So up I went.  Mum made lots of noise, and said quite a few rude words as she tried to fight in through the branches and a *very* prickly wild rose bush.
I was right up there on the sawn off trunk admiring the view having a great time.  The sun was out, warm on my fur.  There was a sea breeze carrying the sound of birds and insects - purrrrfect.
Mum got stuck trying to reach me, and had to go and get a ladder.  Then, just as she reached me a branch snapped and the ladder shifted and slipped.  Ooops...  More bad words....
Mum says she is going to have to build me a huge play pen on the lower garden where I can climb to my heart's content in safety.....

Double Trouble...

Now I have mastered the cat flap, I have moved onto the dog flap. Nothing can hold me back any more.  Mum is racking her brains trying to think what to do.  She has, she says, got a microchip cat flap coming in mid June (she hopes) which sorts out my first exit by not letting me out....but not the dog flap.  And....I have found a way out of the rabbit garden too, he he...  I climb straight up the big gate and over to the back of the house.  I can climb like a monkey, dig like a rabbit, run like the wind and catch insects on the wing.  I have claws like crampons! Magnificent me!  Nothing can stop me now...

World Domination...

Drat!   My plans for world domination have been thwarted!  I have stopped growing.  Mum says I have not put on any weight for five weeks!  She says it is probably because I was starving and ill on the streets when I was born, and it has stunted my growth.  I am still the smallest in the household, although when I first arrived in January I was only .8 kilos and now I am 2.1 kilos because I put on virtually 100 grams a week.  But not any more!  I know I have a big purrrsonality, but a bigger size would really help when I ambush the Big Black Dog and the others.  What can I do?  I eat as much as I can...mmmnn can I rule the world if I am small?

The Haggis range...

Mum is making a Haggis range of cards and postcards and posters to help pay for our big vet bills and to raise money for individuals like Daniela Paun who is the lady in Romania who rescued me.  She looks after lots and lots of street cats and dogs and tries to find homes for them.....but she has to pay big vet bills too and needs money to feed them all....Watch this space....

Ooops

Having a fight with my crinkly cave when fell off mum's desk.  Decidedly not cool, hope no one noticed....

Bunny Trouble...

Mum has been promising to take me to the bunny garden because it is safely hedged and fenced in and will be a new place for me to explore.  This is where there are...bunnies.  But what are bunnies?   Hmmm...breeds of cat?  But no. Mum explained bunnies are about the same size as cats but have much bigger ears, huge feet and small tails.   They sound very peculiar to me as I do not have large feet and have a magnificent tail.   They do however burrow, and so do I, so they have at least they do one normal thing...

Fans...I love them

Fans come from all corners of world to see me...I know, it's the irresistible combination of charisma and dashing good looks...Yesterday the lovely Helen Wilkie-Miln came all the way from Oman!  Mum tells me this is *very* far away.  Well, all right, she came over from Fife, but I am sure that her visit here was the highlight of her trip back home to Scotland...so who is next?

The revenge of the kitty...

Just did a Haggis Kitty Kwondo ambush on Nugget.  Perfectly executed I landed on a moving target, crampons in, a quick bite, and away again.  He just shook his head and carried on.  Hmmmnnn...disappointing...can't have dogs becoming complacent....I shall have to rethink my tactics....

Tai Kitty Kuon Do!

Just having the most amazing fun jumping on the dogs.   Big Black Dog is getting a bit braver...not much...but he is beginning to play and lets me jump and attack his paws.   But he didn't expect my HAGGIS SPECIAL, a sudden leap onto his face with my paws wrapped round his head, and in a heartbeat I was away again.  Mum says she hopes I will do it again as it will make an *amazing* photo.  She has one she is going to post here later but its not as good....

Sardines!

Sardines!  Oh boy!  Where have they been all my life?  Yum!!

Singing in the rain....

Rushed to mum's side this morning, I thought she had hurt herself, and was screaming.   She said no, she was singing!  It sounded painful to me.....

Day two...From Romania with love....

Wasn't I *tiny* back then in late January, and exhausted and frightened.  I had only arrived at ten the previous evening on my long journey from Romania, but had spent the night curled in a warm bed, with quiet and food and drink, and mum checking on me all the time, reassuring me and giving me long cuddles and talking softly to me.  I had a new Scottish name she told me: Haggis.  I am still not sure what a Haggis is?  I went to sleep on her lap moments after this.  In fact because I was so tiny and had not recovered from cat flu I spent most of my first two weeks in Scotland eating (lots and lots of amazing food!!), sleeping, and cuddling.  I sensed other furry ones around, they padded up softly to have a look, then settled close to mum.  I am the centre of attention in a quiet, caring, cuddly way....

A Blind Dragon?

Is there going to be a blind dragon in one of mum's future books?  Well, she is certainly thinking how she can build that into the story arc.  She says there may be pawsibilites.  Two Gulps & You're Gone (The Dragon 'Whisperer) and the baby sabretooth battledragon Two Gulps Too Many (Flight to Dragon Isle) were both inspired by her great big ginger cat Rufus; temperamental, full of attitude and a tad overweight and only handled by her (though I love ambushing him).   Little Chinook inspired gentle Chasing the Stars, so..Haggis the dragon?...grey and white....goes blind as a fledgling due to some affliction...?  Umnn, she says let her think on it...I'm going to be famous....

Throwing the baby out with the bath water...

I have discovered baths!  Well, I discovered them almost on day one when mum went for her bath first thing when she gets up.  Big Black Dog and lots of my other furry brothers and sisters go too, but its mainly the Big Black Dog and me.  I couldn't reach the edge of the bath to start with so I occupied myself with pouncing on and attacking the Big Black Dog's tail.  But last week I was big enough to jump up and balance on the side of the bath.  So mum said it was time that I knew what I was jumping into.  So she let all the water out except for two inches and popped me in.  It was **great**.  I loved it!  I paddled around for ages.  Ever since, I am allowed to jump up and have a quality time cuddle with mum (cause she can't do anything else except pay attention to me when we're in the bath).   And if my tail gets wet or I slip I just shake off the water and jump right back in.  Dad has taken some pictures...they have to be 'discreet' mum said, something to do with two legged ones not having fur.....don't really understand as I have *no* problem being photographed in the bath....

Haggis on the cat walk...

Me showing off my outdoor vest.  It has a bell and an elasticated lead so mum can keep an eye on me, and I know if I don't have it on, I'm not supposed to be out....
 Demonstrating the pounce...
 landing for the kill...
 I've got that green spider...
 Ninja pussycat....take that!

Strutting my stuff on the cat walk...everyone tells me I am a *very* handsome puss....

Wet and Soggy Moggie...

Just jumped out of my basket into a bowl of soapy water for cleaning the floor after a hailstorm.  Am a rather wet and soggy puss....off to groom....

Come thunder, lightning, hail and rain...

Listening to the hail storm battering off the conservatory roof...a teeny bit scared so have come to mum for a cuddle.  She says its all gone dark so she can't see anything either.....

Life is puuuurrrrfect....
